Is Lashevet best at 86th street on the upper east side? In a recent article in The New York Times they seem to think so in an article about the 2nd ave subway, they featured one restaurant from 72nd, 86th, and 96th street. The reporter highlighted Lashevet for 86th street.
For cuisine you’re more likely to find along the Mediterranean — more specifically, that of Morocco, Israel and Lebanon — there’s Lashevet on First Avenue
Nikita Richardson of the New York TImes
The New York Times reporter stopped into Lashevet one night incognito, without us ever knowing she was there. She came to investigate and write about the restaurant, its food, and its staff.
We weren’t aware that we had even been chosen for a review, or that that review of Lashevet Restaurant was featured in The New York Times — until they reached out to notify us after the article was published.
Lashevet Best Restaurant at 86th Street
Does that mean that Lashevet — as the sole restaurant reviewed and featured (for 86th Street on the upper east side of NYC) for the New York Times articles — is elevated to the best restaurant on 1st Ave at 86th Street? We’d certainly like to think so, But what you do think?
The New York Times also reviewed UpThai at 72nd and Kaia Wine Bar (and South African Kitchen) at 96th street.
We’re thrilled to have been chosen to be the featured restaurant for 86th street in this article. Thank you again to all our customers, and let us know what you think. Are we the best restaurant on 1st Ave at 86th Street?
